On Friday 11th April ALAG facilitators took members of the Hayes Citizen Group on a trip down memory lane. Many of the groups relatives had fought in the Great War and they remembered stories told by their parents and grandparents. Translations of the Cityread chosen book: My Dear I wanted to tell you by Louisa Young were used to stimulate the discussion in Urdu, Hindi, Gujarati and Tamil, as well as English.

Many thanks to ALAG members  Gulshan Iqbal, Kamaljit Bedi and guest facilitators Shanthi Ahilathirunayagam and Vyomesh Joshi for making the afternoon  enjoyable and stimulating  by bringing the book to life and reaching members of the Hayes community who may not have otherwise been involved with Cityread 2014.

This exciting event took place at Botwell Library (formerly known as Hayes Library),  in partnership with Hillingdon Libraries and with the help and support of their enthusiastic and dedicated library staff – many thanks to all who took part!
