April sees the launch of Cityread London 2013 and the chosen book for 2013 is A Week in December by Sebastian Faulks. ALAG is very proud to be a part of this exciting project and are adding diversity to the programme by producing a translated synopsis of the story in the following languages: Bengali, Chinese, Gujarati, Hindi, Panjabi, Urdu and Tamil. This can be enjoyed by reading groups across London and includes a translation of the main characters in the stories, a brief biography of Sebastian Faulks, key London locations and discussion questions to liven up debates and get the dialogue flowing!
This is an opportunity to get the whole of London reading and talking about the book and at £50 per language is a real bargain! Library authorities can make as many copies as they require and if they would like a facilitator to lead the discussion in a specific language, ALAG can arrange this too, at a nominal cost.

Authorities which have placed an order so far include Hounslow, Harrow and Camden – many thanks to them for their invaluable support and ALAG looks forward to receiving more orders and finding out the many different and creative ways in which you are planning to use these translations.
