The Tamil Reading Group meets on the last Saturday of every month at Willesden Green Library and last Saturday (28th April) as part of the London-wide Cityread programme, the group read and discussed the translated summary of Oliver Twist. Yamuna Tharmendiran founder member and facilitator said:
“When the reading was over some of the members were interested to know more about Charles Dickens and his work. I am sure the session has inspired them to learn more about him”
This was great news as ALAG’s intention in producing these translations had been precisely this and the Tamil Reading Group’s support and participation is highly appreciated. Here are some photos of the group in action:

I am glad to know that The Tamil Reading Group at Willesden Green Library have made their contributions to the London-wide Cityread Programme on the 28th of April by reading and discussing the translated script of Oliver Twist.I am sorry that I was not able to be present on that day.To learn more about Charles Dickens and his works and about London during his time,we could visit Museum of London- Dickens Exhibition. This is open until 10th of June 2012.We need to check.
