Our first meeting at CILIP HQ was very productive. It would have been good to have more members present but we did get a few last miute apologies. ALAG are already looking to the future with a possible input into Charles Dickens’ 200th birthday celebration in 2012 and participating in the City Reads programme when the whole of London will be invited to read Oliver Twist in April 2012.
What’s this got to do with ALAG? Well diversity is the name of the game and ALAG’s input will help to ensure that English is not the only language available in the City Reads offer.
Back to the present – ALAG in partnership with Brent Libraries will be hosting ImaginAsian on Friday 21st October 2011 from 6-9pm at Willesden Green Library. The author panel will be appearing from 7.30pm and there should be a lively discussion.
The event is free to attend with entertainment from Bollywood dancers, stalls, pampering and lots more. It will be great to see as many ALAG members as possible there to support the event.
